WHY DID I BECOME A DOULA & MIDWIFE?

I love pregnancy, birth and babies! But more importantly because I wanted to give a different, more gentle type of care to my clients. I believe mom's should have a choice in how and where they give birth to their babies. I am also a firm believer in evidence based care so it became my goal to give that type of care as well as choices to the moms and families I serve.

Midwifery

Women in the United States are learning that pregnancy and childbirth are normal, healthy processes, not diseases. And they are finding out that they and their families can benefit from the care of a midwife.

The Midwives Model of Care includes prenatal visits and "hands-on" care throughout labor, birth and right after. It results in less chance of complications, fewer interventions, and a healthier birth for you and your baby.

Advanced Labor Doula

After beginning our relationship with a meet and greet, as your doula I am committed to your health and the wellbeing of your growing family, available whenever needed throughout your entire pregnancy, birth and postpartum. I will be there to provide you with continuous emotional and physical support, and answer any and all questions you may have.

Postpartum Doula

Postpartum Doulas are a trained professional that provides physical, emotional, and spiritual, support and guidance to a new mother and the rest of the family. The Postpartum Doulas is a reference point, assistant and resource for the family in the postpartum period.

Placenta Preparation

Almost all mammals consume the placenta after the birth of their young. With humans being a mammal, there are some who prepare the placenta, dehydrate it and consume it, usually powdered and encapsulated. It is believed to be a way to revitalize and reconsume nutrients that would otherwise be lost during the birthing process.
